Prayer And Integrity
Every believer is born again to have a supernatural experience; experience that cannot be predicted by man or the devil. This is why our Lord Jesus Christ described the believer as wind whose direction of movement cannot be determined by any.
John 3:8
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
This means the believer is one who is ordained to live a life full of supernatural happenings in this world. He is ordained to live on earth the very life of heaven. This is why the believer’s life is meant to be a wonder.
Now, one thing that helps the believer to live this supernatural life and to have supernatural experiences in life is PRAYER.
Prayer has been given to every believer as a means to trigger the supernatural into action or manifestation in the believer’s life. Prayer is given to the believer as means of dialoguing with God in order to make the very of life of God the daily experience of man.
Prayer is so powerful that it can alter the course of life’s events. It can alter the events in the supernatural world.
Prayer is so swift that it travels faster and farther than light. From the experiences of those that have fully engaged prayer, prayer can reverse event the intentions of heaven. Prayer is so powerful that death bows to it, sickness and diseases submits to it. Prayer has broken the chains of darkness and demons, destroyed the yoke of evil, levelled mountains and filled up valleys. Prayer has so much power that it has turned the situations of nations, families and individual’s around.
Prayer genuinely made has brought back the dead to life, made available the supernatural acts of the almighty God.
However, one element that has made prayer so powerful is INTEGRITY. When integrity is in place, prayer becomes a force that cannot be ignored, but respected by all forces in heaven and earth.
1 Sam 12:16-18
16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the Lord will do before your eyes.
17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the Lord, in asking you a king.
18 So Samuel called unto the Lord; and the Lord sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the Lord and Samuel.
Samuel could call upon God to do the unusual because there was integrity on his part. Here is the testimony of his integrity.
1 Sam 12:1-5
12 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.
2 And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.
3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.
4 And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man’s hand.
5 And he said unto them, The Lord is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.
Many people think it is just the noise, words and gymnastics in prayers that move God to answer prayers. But that is not really the case. Among other things that make prayer invincible and powerful is integrity in the part of the person who makes the prayer.
Integrity in the part of God and man is the secret force behind prayer. God’s integrity is intact. That of man is the one that is questioned. Many prayers don’t bring result because integrity is lacking in the part of man. You cannot lack integrity and still expect prayers to be effective.
Integrity is being true to yourself. It is being true to words. It is the agreement of your words and actions. Integrity is agreement with the Word of God. Integrity is being conformed to the Word and lifestyle of God’s kingdom.
Prayer cannot be effective and productive as long as integrity is not in place. Jesus’ power in prayer is right in His integrity. Jesus said “ Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?” (John 8:46).
There are many people whose actions are not in agreement with their prayers. There are people whose lifestyle is not in agreement with their prayers. They forget that God looks at the heart, and just listening to our words.
If your prayers must be effective then integrity must be in place.
Integrity will give you boldness to approach God and to commune with God. Integrity gives you assurance of answers to your prayers.
From this moment, I pray that God will give you grace to make you have the integrity that requires answers to your prayers.
God bless you
