Experiencing The Supernatural (Part 1)
Life is a mix of the supernatural and the natural. And the physical or natural world is made to be controlled and governed by the supernatural. The supernatural sphere of life is where what happens in the natural is determined, monitored and controlled. Those who have gained access to the supernatural are those who are in charge of the happenings in the natural.
Matter of fact, it is encounter with the supernatural that brings you to a position of authority over the natural, and gives power to control and determine what happens in the natural realm. Men like Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, etc., were men who took full control of the events of the natural due to their encounters or experiences they had with the supernatural. They could stop the rain from falling for years, they could stop the sun from going down, they could bring forth hailstones, and they could turn water into blood. These ordinary men had with supernatural touch on their lives.
You cannot take charge of the earth without a strong hold on the supernatural. And this is one of the blessings of the redemptive work of Christ in our lives. By being born again we are given access to the supernatural with the full intention of making us authority over the natural realm. By accepting and believing in His death, burial and resurrection, we are brought in a kingdom that is supernatural in nature (Col. 1:13).
It takes the supernatural overshadowing you that makes you an authority on the earth. With the supernatural operating in and through, you can bring the powers of darkness, activities of evil and sicknesses under control. The Lord Jesus affirmatively said “These signs shall follow them that believe” (Mark 16:16 – 20).
However, you will need to constantly have experience of the supernatural in order for you to manifest the supernatural which will help you to keep the natural under control.
It was an experience Moses had with God that turned his life around, filled him with supernatural power and authority that made him take full control of the events of his life and that resulted in the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt (Ex. 3:1 – 10). Experience with the supernatural God makes you a force to be reckoned with here both by man and demonic forces here on earth.
What then prepares us for supernatural experience? It is hunger for God. Supernatural experience is made accessible to those who will hunger for it. Scripture says:
Isaiah 55:1-2
1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
The degree to which you hunger and thirst for Him to that measure He will manifest to you. your capacity to experience the supernatural is rooted in your hunger. Men that are not hungry for supernatural experience would hardly experience one.
You must become hungry to see Him in different aspect if you must experience the supernatural.
There are aspects of God that you will never learn or know until you experience God. the men of old walked in such supernatural authority because they were men who always hungered for more of God. With all that Moses saw God do through him, he knew that there were still aspects of God that he needed to experience and not just to know by head knowledge. And so he cried out his hunger by saying “Shew me thy glory” (Ex. 33:18). And the more he was hungry for the glory of God the more he was experiencing the supernatural of God that made him an authority both man and demonic forces did fear and obey.
As a believer, it should be your daily hunger to experience God. it should be an earnest desire to know God beyond the words you read and hear about. There is tremendous power that transforms when you experience the supernatural.
